Based on a Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) press release dated 30 October 2026. Checked on 31 October 2026 (IST).
Indian travellers heading to Thailand in November can join Diwali celebrations in three of the country’s busiest tourist areas. The Amazing Thailand Grand Diwali Festival 2026 will run seven celebrations in Bangkok, Pattaya (Chon Buri) and Phuket from 3 to 29 November, TAT said. Admission to all seven is free.
The programme is organised by the Indian Association of Thailand (IAT) and the Thai–India Trade and Tourism Association (TITTA), working with TAT, the Embassy of India in Bangkok and other partners. TAT says this is its fifth straight year of supporting the festival, which comes ahead of the 80th anniversary of Thailand–India diplomatic relations in 2027. Diwali falls on 8 November this year.

Why it matters
- For travellers: a family trip over the Diwali holidays can now include a free Diwali event in Bangkok, Pattaya or Phuket. Times are local Thailand time (1 hour 30 minutes ahead of IST).
- For the travel trade: the dates line up with the start of Thailand’s high season. Agents selling Diwali and late-November packages can build itineraries around the ICONSIAM fireworks on 8 November or the combined Loi Krathong night in Phahurat on 24 November.
