The Tourism Authority of Thailand has set out what it wants travellers to buy in 2027. At an event called “Thailand Nextperience: Tourism Product Highlight 2027”, held in Bangkok on 20 October, TAT named five product priorities. The plan follows its “Value over Volume” approach, and TAT says it targets at least 5% growth in tourism revenue in 2027.
The five priorities
- Wellness and longevity. Sold under the line “Healing is the New Luxury”, this links medical care, traditional Thai medicine, spas and nature. TAT groups it into treatment and recovery, preventive health, and general wellbeing. Examples include the Siriraj Sappaya Sathan Thai traditional medicine centre and a surf therapy activity in Phang-nga.
- Festivals. Under “365 Days of Celebration”, TAT lists music, sport and cultural events such as Tomorrowland Thailand, EDC Thailand, S2O, Wonderfruit and the Amazing Thailand Marathon. Regional events such as the Ubon Ratchathani Candle Festival, the Nakhon Phanom Illuminated Boat Procession and the Sakon Nakhon Christmas Star Parade are named Signature Events.
- Creative experiences. This includes “Meaningful Love Journey”, with 55 products and four routes for couples and honeymooners, “Soul of Siam” premium craft experiences such as gems, jewellery and textiles, and “Creatrip Thailand” hands-on art, food and community activities.
- Sustainable and regenerative travel. TAT presented a “Chiang Mai Prototype” for responsible tourism, following an earlier Krabi model.
- Trusted Thailand. Quality, safety and service standards, backed by TAT certification schemes and the Thailand Tourism Awards.
Why it matters for Indian agents
The honeymoon routes and wellness products fit two segments that Indian agents already sell to Thailand. The festival calendar can also help agents plan group departures around dates. TAT says more details, travel routes and an e-book are on its Tourism Product 2027 platform and the Amazing Thailand Facebook page, and through the TAT Contact Center on 1672.
