Based on posts by SWISS and Toronto Pearson Airport on X, the SWISS newsroom and Air India’s route announcement. Checked on 28 October 2026 (IST).

Two long-haul routes we have been tracking are now flying: SWISS between Bengaluru and Zurich, and Air India between Mumbai and Toronto.

SWISS: Bengaluru–Zurich

SWISS said on X that flight LX140 “took off for Bengaluru for the first time” on the afternoon of 27 October, making Bengaluru its third Indian destination. SWISS CEO Jens Fehlinger opened the route with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Zurich Airport.

SWISS has said the route runs five times a week, and that Bengaluru stays in its summer 2027 schedule (see our earlier report). For trade sellers, the route gives south Indian travellers a one-stop option to Switzerland and onward connections across the SWISS and Lufthansa Group networks.

Air India: Mumbai–Toronto

Toronto Pearson Airport posted that Air India’s new non-stop Toronto–Mumbai service is “officially open”, and that it celebrated the launch with Air India, partners and community members. The airport said it is Air India’s second route from Toronto, operated with a Boeing 777-300ER, and that it serves the largest diaspora corridor between India and Canada.

When Air India announced the route, it described a seasonal service of three flights a week for the winter, running until 26 March 2027. Check Air India’s website for current timings.
