Vietnam Airlines notice dated 13 October 2026; first flight 3 November 2026.

The route

According to a notice on Vietnam Airlines’ own staff portal dated 13 October 2026, the airline will start direct flights between Hanoi and Ahmedabad on 3 November 2026. It will run four round trips a week with Airbus A321 aircraft.

Ahmedabad becomes Vietnam Airlines’ fifth city in India. The airline says it will then fly seven routes between the two countries, with 25 round trips a week, linking Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.

The official notice does not give flight numbers, operating days or timings. Check the published schedule on vietnamairlines.com or your GDS before quoting times to clients.

More capacity into Hanoi this winter

The Ahmedabad flights add to other new capacity into northern Vietnam. IndiGo starts daily direct Mumbai–Hanoi flights on 25 October 2026, according to its press-release index.

Visa reminder

Indian travellers need a visa for Vietnam. The government’s immigration portal says e-visas are processed in three working days and cost USD 25 for single entry or USD 50 for multiple entry. Apply only on the official portal.

Why it matters

  • For travellers in Gujarat: They can fly direct to Hanoi from their home airport on a full-service carrier. The airline’s notice refers to both Economy and Business Class on the route.
  • For tour operators: Hanoi works as a gateway for northern Vietnam itineraries, and the airline’s domestic network can be used for onward legs. Package rates will need the published timings first.
  • For agents: Vietnam Airlines will now serve five Indian cities. Corporate and MICE groups from western India get another direct option alongside the Mumbai flights.
